Abstract A 3-year Danish collaborative research project on ash deposition in PF-fired boilers was initiated in 1993. The project is targetted towards the power plants in Denmark, including the new USC-boilers under construction, with steam parameters 290 bar/580 C and using coals of worldwide origins.
